Dame Julie Andrews was born 1 October 1935 in Walton on Thames Surrey England .
As a child soprano she entertained audiences in the 1940s.

At age 11 and 13 she sang for the Queen. She conquered Broadway when she was just 19 years old, in ‘the Boyfriend’ (1954), which was followed by the great success as Eliza Doolittle of Lerner & Loewe’s ’My Fair Lady’ (1956) with Rex Harrison.
But most people will remember her from her film career.

After Walt Disney saw her in ‘Camelot’ he hired her for ‘Mary Poppins’ (1964) which led to the great success of the Rodgers & Hammerstein’s classic ‘ The Sound of Music’ (1965)
But she also made cult classics like ‘The Americanization of Emily’ (1964) and movies with her second husband, Blake Edwards like Victor Victoria (1982) and many more.
The underrated Duet for One (1986) might well be her best dramatic performance, but a lot of younger fans will forever remember her as Queen Clarisse Renaldi in ‘The Prince
